Bulb Changing Tool

Miniature lamps are used in connection with keys, indicators and the like. For insertion and removal of these lamps, a tube 10 of plastic or other insulating material has a spring retracted plunger 11. In this particular tool use, the lamp 12 is provided with metal base 14 having lip 17 that is engaged by four spring conductor fingers 15 in housing 16.

Lamp 12 is placed in the open end of the tube 10 which is tapered to a sharp edge that limits on lip 17. After being seated between fingers 15, plunger 11 is depressed forcing tube 10 off of lamp 12. In reverse, tube 10 is pressed over lamp 12, opening fingers 15, permitting its easy removal.
