This device produces an electric signal indication in response to predetermined positioning relationships of certain component parts.

A flux generator 10, consisting of a magnetic core 30 provided with energization windings 31, is arranged in spaced relation to sensing device 11. This device comprise s core body 36 having a gap 37 facing generator 10 and provided with sensing coil 38. A link 12, e. g., a rotatable disc, carrying on its circumference a pair of core extension members 34 with gap 35, is adapted for movement between and in contact with generator 10 and sensing device 11. In operating position, members 34 are aligned with the legs of core 30, presenting gap 35 coincident with gap 37, such that the flux caused by coil 31 generates an output signal in coil 38.

Because the gaps are relatively narrow, coincidence is achieved only over a very small range of positioning of link 12. However, when link 12 is in a position adjacent to the operating position, a leg of core body 36 is opposite gap 35 shorting the gap and preventing the flux from making a circuit through coil 38.

In operation, a recurrent pulse type voltage is impressed upon the energization windings 31. Thus, a magnetic flux of a similar pulsating character is created in region 15. The flux is transmitted along members 34 at the time of coincidence of gaps 35 and 37, coupling the sensing device 11 and coil 31 and thus generating signal voltages. Because of the narrownes...
