Reed Relay Latch

A method of fabricating a reed relay latch is provided. A reed relay is a device which includes at least two reeds or arms which are closed by the influence of a magnetic field. A reed relay latch is a reed relay which, once closed by an applied magnetic field, remains closed when the applied magnetic field is removed.

A useful reed relay latch is provided by having the ends of reeds themselves magnetized. The ends of the reeds are then trimmed or cut back until the proper value of magnetization remains to accomplish the latching.
