Operation Time Stamp Including a Control Device for Use in Machine Tools

The device detects and controls the productive and unproductive times of machine tools by a time stamp which emits pulses.

Mounted for free rotation on type roll shaft 1 of the time stamp is, besides digit rolls 2, the type roll 3. The latter is manually positionable by knurled head 4 and connected through belt 5 to switch 6. Thus, whenever one of types S, I, II, III, IV is in its position for printing the correspondingly marked contact of switch 6 is closed through wiper 7. S means start and the digits I to IV indicate different types of errors, e. g., tool breakdown, etc. Corresponding to the types of errors that can be set up, self-holding relays A, B, C, D are provided. Check lamps L1... L4 are arranged on a central field of panel 8 for operation by the make contacts of the relays.

At the start of operation, roll 3 is set to S and the time stamp is actuated, thus causing line 10 to be printed on paper tape 9. At the same time, reset relay Z is momentarily energized through contact 11 and contacts Z-1... Z-4 interrupt the hold circuits of the error relays.

When an error occurs, roll 3 is rotated into the proper position. e. g., "I", and the time stamp is operated. Such action causes line 12 to be printed and relay A to be picked up through contact 11. Through contact A-2, now closed, lamp L1 is lighted. After the error is corrected, roll 3 is reset to S and the stamp operated. If, during...
