Abstract

A triplet lens for obtaining the diffraction limit over the entire field angle within the wavelength from 4047 angstroms to 5461 angstroms while maintaining a relatively long back focal length is shown. Tabular values are given of the dimensions and orientation of the optical surfaces.

Triplet Lens

A triplet lens for obtaining the diffraction limit over the entire field angle within the wavelength from 4047 angstroms to 5461 angstroms while maintaining a relatively long back focal length is shown. Tabular values are given of the dimensions and orientation of the optical surfaces.

With these parameters, the lens has an effective speed of f8, a half-field angle of 5.5 degrees and a focal length of 38 mm. The lens is designed at -15 times magnification and can be used from -10 times magnification up to an infinite object distance.
