Abstract

A high-speed digital information storage cell includes electrical conductor 10 having a continuous coating 14 of magnetic material having two stable states of remanent flux. Conductor 10 forms a closed loop. Its magnetic continuity is ensured by a mass 20 of magnetic material interconnecting the adjacent portions of coating at the crossover point.

Selectively applied current pulses, flowing through conductor 10 and conductor 22 threading the loop, switch the direction of remanent magnetization into one or other circular direction.
