Low Impedance Switch Circuit

This is a circuit for rapidly charging and discharging the capacitance of an output line.

When an input signal on terminal 1 is at its negative level, transistors T1 and T3 are cut off and transistor T2 conducts. The line capacitance is charged towards +V1 through T2 and resistor 2 until transistor T4 conducts. T2 and T4 then reach an equilibrium condition clamping the output voltage to V2 + Vbe.

When the input signal is at its positive level, T1 and T3 saturate and T2 and T4 are cut off. The output line capacitance is, therefore, discharged through T3.
