Solid Fluorescent Standards

This solid compound exhibits a particular wavelength of light useful as a standard for calibrating light measuring instruments. The compound comprises essentially a matrix of an epoxy resin in which is dispersed a dye, for example, diphenyl or triphenyl methane and derivatives of Xanthene, all of which exhibit fluorescent properties.

This particular article has many advantages, namely, ease of handling, long life, and is independent of the site of the impinging exciting light.
