Abstract

The parametron circuit supplies clocked, properly phased signals for selection of an individual word in a dual-frequency magnetic core memory in response to individual selection control signals. Word location 1 in the memory is selected by excitation of an address selector parametron 2 under control of amplifier 3. Amplifier 3, in turn, is under control of an input circuit which includes parametrons 4, 5, 6 and 7. Parametrons 4 and 6 are included in a group designated III. Parametrons 5 and 7 are included in a group designated I. Resistors 8, 9, 10 and 11 serve to isolate the oscillations of the parametron 1 group from the parametron III group.

Word location 1 in the memory is selected by excitation of an address selector parametron 2 under control of amplifier 3. Amplifier 3, in turn, is under control of an input circuit which includes parametrons 4, 5, 6 and 7. Parametrons 4 and 6 are included in a group designated III. Parametrons 5 and 7 are included in a group designated I. Resistors 8, 9, 10 and 11 serve to isolate the oscillations of the parametron 1 group from the parametron III group.

Parametrons 6 and 7 are maintained in a reference 1 phase by signals on windings 12 and 13, respectively. Parametrons 4 and 5 are selectively placed in a 0 phase or a 1 phase under control of a selection control signal that is applied on winding 14. A properly phased signal is supplied by the input circuit to amplifier 3 in order to excite parametron 2 and select word location 1 when a 1 phase selection control signal is applied to winding 14. With a 1 phase signal on winding 14, both parametrons 4 and 5 oscillate in the 1 phase. Therefore, the outputs of all parametrons 4, 5, 6 and 7 are in the 1 phase, and an additive signal is supplied to amplifier 3.
