Abstract

A timing pulse rate equal to twice the number of timing notches 11 on timing disk 10 is obtained. Such is by providing a pair of pickup transducers 12 and 13 located out of phase along the disk periphery. A home pulse is generated by home slot 14 located between two timing slots 11. Only the home pulse generated in transducer 13 is utilized to perform a synchronizing check by circuits 15.

Dual Channel Time Pulse Generator

A timing pulse rate equal to twice the number of timing notches 11 on timing disk 10 is obtained. Such is by providing a pair of pickup transducers 12 and 13 located out of phase along the disk periphery. A home pulse is generated by home slot 14 located between two timing slots 11. Only the home pulse generated in transducer 13 is utilized to perform a synchronizing check by circuits 15.

The timing pulses generated at transducers 12 and 13 are fed successively to opposite sides of time trigger 16. The leading edge of each timing pulse switches trigger 16 on or off as the case may be. Each switch of trigger 16 results in the generation of a pulse through parallel channels to a pair of And's 17 and
18. These are connected through single shots 19 ad 20 through Or 21 to a timed circuit 22 such as a counter. Single shots 23 and 24, connected to the on ad off outs puts of trigger 16, are connected respectively through inverters 2S and 26 to on ad off gates of trigger 16. The single shot durations are greater than the time between a timing slot 11 and home slot 14. They are less than the time between successive timing slots 11. Thus, trigger 16 is not gated at home pulse time and is not switched by a home pulse.

Each time the off side of trigger 16 is switched, a pulse is delivered from single shot 19 to switch home trigger 27 off. At the same time the on gate of trigger 27 is conditioned on.by firing single shot 24. If a home pulse is...
