This air blower device is for the purpose of removing oxide and MYLAR* particles from the edges of magnetic tape.

Magnetic tape 10 is advanced over saddle channel 9 formed in the center of base block 11 and between a pair of cover blocks 12. Base 11 has two sets of air inlet and exhaust chambers 15 and 17, one set for each edge of the tape. Air at pressure of about sixty psi is applied through inlet 13 and chamber 15. This connects to a converging passage or nozzle, the apex 16 of which is approximately 2 mils square. One edge of the tape to be cleaned forms a side of this apex.
