Abstract

In the 2-D memory shown in drawing A, the cores are arranged in rows and columns of the memory with the same relative orientation. The sense winding is wound in a serpentine pattern on succeeding columns of cores. As such, there is no cross-over of the sense winding and yet a cancelation of the noise is provided.

In the 2-D memory shown in drawing A, the cores are arranged in rows and columns of the memory with the same relative orientation. The sense winding is wound in a serpentine pattern on succeeding columns of cores. As such, there is no cross-over of the sense winding and yet a cancelation of the noise is provided.

Each of the driver and gate circuits has a floating non-saturating switch with a transformer 16 drive as shown in drawing B. As indrawing C, the terminal P of each switch is connected through a resistor to a source of positive potential. The terminal Q of the switch is connected to ground. In drawing A, all terminals marked PX are connected through a common resistor to a positive potential. All terminals marked PY are connected through another common resistor to the positive potential. The labeling X or Y indicates the particular dimension of the memory.

To write into a particular core, one driver and one gate in each of the X and Y dimensions is energized. For example, to write into the core 10 in drawing A, driver 1 and gate 1 in the X dimension are energized. To read out of core 10, driver 2 and gate 2 in the X dimension are energized and driver 3 and gate 3 in the Y dimension are energized.
