Adhesive applicator 10 provides a uniform coating of adhesive in a discrete area to article 15 which is to be bonded to another member, not shown.

Article 15, in this example, is cylindrical and is placed about rotatable adhesive receptacle 20 to rest upon adjustable support block 25. Receptacle 20 has removable cap 21 to facilitate filling receptacle 20 with adhesive. The adhesive in receptacle 20 emerges under centrifugal force from small aperture 22 as 20 is rotated at high speeds. By this arrangement, a narrow band of adhesive 16 is applied in a uniform amount to article 15.

The amount of adhesive applied is controlled by the time which dispenser 20 is permitted to rotate. Dispenser 20 is rotated by air operated turbine 30. Air is supplied to turbine 30 through conduit 31 which is attached to timer-regulator 35. Timer 35 is connected to air supply 36 and includes a solenoid operated valve, not shown, for controlling the passage of air from supply 36 to conduit 31. The operation of the solenoid valve is controlled by a manually settable timer 35. Timer 35 is set by control knob 37 to permit passage of air from zero to six seconds.
