This device continuously checks a D.C. voltage which is to remain between two predetermined limits U1 and U2.

Multivibrator 1, 2 supplies square waves, part of which are added in 8 to the checked D.C. voltage supplied to the right hand side of 8. The resulting voltage is fed to the Schmidt trigger 3, 4. If the checked voltage lies between the limit voltages U1 and U2, the resulting voltage passes, at each half period of the multivibrator, the switching voltages of the Schmidt trigger 3, 4. This trigger supplies under these conditions an A. C. current. If the checked voltage is of a value that is higher or lower than the limit voltages U1 and U2, the Schmidt trigger remains in one or the other of its stable states. This depends upon whether the checked voltage is above or below those values.

The signal produced by the Schmidt trigger 3, 4 is supplied to the input of transistor 5. Transistors 5 and 6 amplify the signal, which is fed from the output of transistor 6, to, for instance, a relay controlling the power supply. The nominal value and the limits assigned to the checked voltage may be modified through the potentiometer 7 and through the resistors of the Schmidt trigger.
