Recorded Data Security Device

This device provides security control of selected data in a disk memory, where all transducers move in and out together.

An extra transducer 1 and disk surface 2 are provided in the disk memory 3. At any given track location of the transducer array 4, the operation of all the transducers is controlled by signals from the extra transducer. The read amplifier 5 for the extra transducer picks up data signals recorded on the extra disk surface and transmits them to a decode logic network 6.

Specially coded bit configurations are detected by network 6 which closes gate 7, thus interrupting normal transfer of data from the disk memory to the memory read amplifier 8. The optimum location for the security signals corresponds to the address section of each data record. This allows time to operate the control circuits before transmission of actual data commences. Provision is made for overriding the control by distinct operation action.
