Abstract

On one side of record strip 1, print hammers 2 are mounted on two leaf springs 3, so that they are horizontally displaceable. On the other side of strip 1, ink ribbon 4 is movably mounted in front of the type members 5. Type members 5 are comprised of block portions 6, 7. These are clamped to steel band 8 coated with an energy absorbing plastic. Hammers 2 are actuated by armatures 9 of electromagnets 10.

Print force control is realized by the energy-absorbing member 11. This is mounted between stationary stop member 12 and individual print hammers 2 and consists of a resilient material. Member 11 is independent of the thickness of record strip 1. It consists of synthetic rubber and extends across the entire length of the printer.
