Card Feed Apparatus

The record card feed provides for moving of cards toward the feed line without cocking or jamming.

Picker knife edge l, carried by rocker arm 2, rocks leftward to feed a bottom card from the hopper into the feed rolls 3 and 4. Upon such action, registering finger 5 moves rightward leaving the cards free to move down in the hopper.

As picker knife 1 moves rightward, finger 5 moves leftward against the cards. Thus, despite the grazing action of the rightward moving support 6, the card is registered in a substantially predetermined position relative to the throat between the throat knife and the throat roller. Finger 5 is biased to registering position by spring 7 of such force as to merely offset the rightward force action on the card due to any grazing action.
