Cross-Talk Compensating Circuit

In a row of closely spaced electromagnets which are selectively operable, the operate time of one magnet is effected by stray flux from other energized magnets. The circuitry obtains a uniform operate time for the magnets regardless of the pattern of magnets energized.

The circuit comprises a plurality of main windings 1...n. Each is selectively energizable singly or in any combination by corresponding switches S1... Sn. Compensating windings 1'... n' are provided to compensate for the magnetic cross-talk. These generate a counter flux to adjust the flux generated by the individual coils and the stray flux from adjacent magnets. Such magnet adjustment is in uniform operate time.

Resistors R1...Rn and R1'... Rn' are provided to distribute the currents in such a manner as to provide the compensating flux between not only adjacent magnets but subsequent magnets as well. Dotted forward conducting diodes D1...D4 and D1'... D4', can be inserted to prevent compensating circuit currents traveling beyond adjacent positions.
