Abstract

This mono-selected matrix utilizes a plurality of elements which are set in a Clear state for subsequent switching into either the 1 or 0 state If an element is set in either the 1 or 0 state, it only switches to the opposite state from Clear. Therefore, mono-selection or non-coincident current selection of particular bits in a particular word of the matrix is possible.

27. Winding 32 passes through apertures 30 and 28 and is operative, when current passes from source 34to ground, to cause the sensing of a 1 and the simultaneously placement of the core 20 in a Clear state.

Winding 36, when carrying current from source 38 to ground, sets the core to 0. Winding 40, when conducting current from source 42 to ground, is operative, simultaneously with the passage of current on winding 36, to cause core 20 to be set in a 1 state. Winding 44 is provided to sense a change in core state. The 1 state is characterized by flux to the right in an upper horizontal leg and flux to the left in a lower horizontal leg. Neither the Clear nor the 0 states have any horizontal flux. When a core is switched from 1 to Clear state, an out put signal is generated in response to collapse of the horizontal flux.
