Enclosed Contact Points

The enclosed contact points are operated either by cards or cams at high speed without bouncing.

Housing 1 has a cover 2 on which is mounted a pair of contact blocks 3. One contact block 3 has the stationary point 4, while the other carries U shaped spring contact 5.

Double armed lever 6 is actuated either by cards or cams to pivot about shaft
7. Such action biases the end of spring contact 5 against stationary point 4. When at rest, the majority of the length of spring contact 5 is in contact with housing 1. Any vibration imparted to the spring contact, when actuated, is damped almost completely between cycles.
