Continuous Paper Forms Severator

This machine processes continuous forms from a supply source through a complete separation procedure. There results an output of individual ply stacks of cut paper form sheets ready for distribution in a single pass.

The forms are transported by either pin feed device 10 for linear feed hole forms 11 or belt feed device 12 for lateral feed hole forms 13. Such transport is through a carrier strip removal station 14 for forms 11 and on to a medial strip rotary cutoff or punch station 15. The medial strips 16 which divide the continuous forms and which are cut off at station 15 are either prescored or prepunched or both so that the ties in the paper plies are different from the ties in the carbon plies. The knives or punches 17 sever the remaining ties in the paper plies and only part of the remaining ties in the carbon paper. At this point, paper sheets 18 are completely severed from the form. The carbon paper plies 19 are not completely severed due to ties remaining between slits and holes in the carbon paper. Each carbon paper ply is then passed over a roller and through carbon web pull rolls 20 into a scrap container 21. The carbon paper plies 19 function as a belt conveyor by transporting the cut paper sheets 18 from the cut off station to the sheet stacker pockets 22. Each carbon paper web performs the same function and transports the cut paper sheets resting on it to one of the pockets.
