If a sporadic error occurs in a data channel of an electronic system which causes a check circuit to respond, the pulse group characterizing such error cannot be checked as it no longer exists.

In this circuitry, pulse sequence is sent constantly through a delay line at the output of which it normally is lost. However, when the check circuit responds, the output of the delay line is connected to its input. Thus, the pulse sequence existing shortly before the response of the check circuit is constantly recirculated.

As long as no error signal is evidenced by energization of check circuit 5, the And condition for gate 2 is met but not that for gate 3. The input signals arriving through terminal 4 are chopped by the pulses produced by oscillator 6 and driver stage 7. The repetition rate is suited for transmission on magnetostrictive delay line 1. The chopped signals are applied by Or 8 to delay line 1. The pulses are lost after a corresponding delay at the output of line 1.

As soon as an error signal occurs, the And condition is met for gate 3 but no longer for gate 2. The signals, stored in accordance with the period of delay prior to the occurrence of the error signal in line 1, are now re-applied through amplifier 9, inverter 10 and gate 3 to the input of line 1 and are thus constantly regenerated. The recirculating pulse sequence is checked at terminal 12 under control of And 11.
