One Shot Parametron Circuits

The one-shot parametron circuit produces a continuous series of 0 signals until there is a call for a 1 signal as required, for example, in interface and control circuits.

The basic circuit is in full lines. Switch 11 is a normally open single pole contactor. Input parametron 21 generates 0 signals which are transmitted to an output parametron 31 and appear at output terminal 41. At the same time the 0 signals are transmitted to a triad of concatenated parametrons 51, 52 and 53 constituting a one cycle delay circuit. The output of the delay triad is complemented and presented to output parametron 31. Although the complementing delivers a 1 signal to output parametron 31, the variable 0 signal and a constant 0 signal applied to the output parametron 31 produces a 0 signal output by majority seeding.

When switch 11 is closed for introducing data, a 1 signal from the source 10 of 1 signals is applied to input parametron 21 seeding it to produce a 1 signal which simultaneously seeds the first parametron 51 of the triad and the output parametron 31. This produces a 1 output signal at the terminals 41. A full power supply cycle later, the delayed 1 signal is inverted at the input of output parametron 31 inhibiting any 1 signal that is applied from input parametron 21 due to switch 11 not being reopened fast enough.
