Abstract

This is a logic system for interconnecting a radar system to a display system such that each operates at its own pulse repetition frequency. Synchronization of information is effected by a command from the computer which permits range information from the display equipment to be stored. After this, the display is triggered by the radar to superimpose video information upon the previously stored range information.

Radar Interconnection

This is a logic system for interconnecting a radar system to a display system such that each operates at its own pulse repetition frequency. Synchronization of information is effected by a command from the computer which permits range information from the display equipment to be stored. After this, the display is triggered by the radar to superimpose video information upon the previously stored range information.

The computer trigger TC sets bistable Y1 to the Y1 state. The Y1 level is anded at E1 with the next display system trigger TS setting bistable Y2 to the Y2 state. Y2 enables the unblanking circuits, displaying a range crosshair. Also, Y2, differentiated, resets Y1 to the bar Y1 state, preventing subsequent TS pulses from triggering Y2. The end-of-sweep pulse TM resets Y2 to the bar Y2 state blanking the storage tube. Bar Y2, differentiated, sets bistable Y3 to the Y3 state disabling E2 which disconnects the sweep generator circuits from display system trigger TS.

The output Y3 disables the D. C. feedback loop of the deflection circuitry which must now hold its last correction level. Also, Y3 enables E3 permitting radar trigger TR to set Y4 to the Y4 state, enabling the unblanking circuitry so that video may be displayed. TR also initiates the next range sweep. At the end of this sweep, TM sets Y3 to bar Y3 and Y4 to bar Y4, thus disconnecting TR from the sweep generator and blanking further video. Bar Y3 enables the D. C. feedback l...
