A Simple Synchronizing Circuit

The logic circuitry synchronizes pulses produced at randomly occurring times with standard clock pulses.

A random pulse appearing on conductor 1 sets flip flop circuit 2. The resulting significant level on output conductor 3 from the set side of 2 conditions gate 4. A clock pulse appearing on conductor 5 samples now-conditioned gate 4. The derived pulse appearing on output conductor 6 of 4 resets flip flop 2. The latter produces a change in level in a particular direction on output conductor 7.

A change of level in such a direction on conductor 7 causes pulse amplifier 8 to generate on its output conductor 9 a pulse which is synchronized with respect to the above mentioned clock pulse. The circuit is then ready to synchronize the random pulse next present on conductor I with another clock pulse subsequently appearing on conductor 5.
