Abstract

A frequency multiplier utilizes the switching of a D.C. flux produced by a winding B which is connected to a D.C. source. Winding B passes through a hole 2 in a multi-apertured core 7 and is orthogonal to an output winding C passing through a hole 1.

Frequency Multiplier

A frequency multiplier utilizes the switching of a D.C. flux produced by a winding B which is connected to a D.C. source. Winding B passes through a hole 2 in a multi-apertured core 7 and is orthogonal to an output winding C passing through a hole 1.

The switching is done by sinusoidal fluxes produced by Figure 8 windings A which pass through openings 1, 5, 2 and 3, 6, 4 as shown and are connected to an A. C. input source. The D. C. flux is insensitive to the direction of the A. C. flux. It is sensitive, however, to the flux magnitude so that the D. C. flux is switched twice for each alternating cycle thus producing an output having twice the input frequency. Coils B and C may be interchanged.
