Organizational Checker

The conformity of an actual system organization with an implied organization is checked by comparing certain characteristics of the actual organization with a number of rules.

The system comprises a number of autonomous data processing units (arithmetic, logical, storage, editing, etc.) each of which performs operations upon operands supplied by one or more other units connected to it.

The selection control assigns, directly or indirectly, each one of seven units (unit 1...unit 7) to any one of three types of connecting circuits or stream
1...stream 3 by appropriate signals on the select unit inputs (select unit 1...select unit 7). For example, a signal on the select unit 1 input to unit 1 assigns that unit to stream 1. A different signal on the select unit 1 input to unit 1 assigns that unit to another stream, for instance, stream 2. It is not necessary that every unit be assigned to a stream. Unassigned units are called independent.

The activity control is operated during processing of data by the units when abnormal conditions occur requiring special adjustments to be made. Adjustments are executed in sequence. The activity control outputs G1...G7 indicate which units are active in the current adjustment operating gates G-1...G- 7.
