Cathode Ray Tube Test Fixture

Dimensional inspection of cylindrical type cathode ray tubes having a large diameter front portion 10 and a small diameter neck portion 12 is achieved in the test fixture.

The device consists of a base 14 mounted with adjustable rollers, guides and measuring devices so designed as to facilitate quick and easy setup for checking cathode ray tubes of different sizes.

The ends of the tube are supported on rotatable wheel pairs 16 and 18. The rear of the portion 10 is supported on spring loaded wheel pair 20. The neck portion 12 is held down against the neck support wheels 18 by a spring loaded wheel 22. The over all length is quickly determined by the go no go type indicator 24 when the tube is positioned against the mount 26. The neck concentricity and neck axial alignment are determined with a dial indicator 28, which is movable along the length of 12.
