Article Transport And Locating Device

The device feeds cylindrical articles from remote locations to a central location or locations and stops the article at a central location with a minimum of shock. The feeder consists of a cylindrical tube with air inputs provided at its ends. Centrally located exhausts are also provided.

If the ratio of input to exhaust pressure is maintained at the proper level, cylindrical articles are moved from the input ends of the tube towards a central exhaust location. As the article being transported arrives at the central location, it is cushioned by air flow from the other direction and gently oscillated prior to falling through the exhaust port. This brings the cylindrical article to a stop with a minimum of shock.
