Pulse Centering Circuitry

A minimum of logic blocks are provided for producing two pulses, one of which is accurately centered within the time period of the other.

The pulse A which is applied to the circuit may be derived from a source such as a single-shot. A delayed pulse B is obtained from a delay element 1. An expanded pulse C is obtained from an OR circuit 2 by combining pulse A and delayed pulse B.

A pulse D is produced at AND circuit 3 during the time pulse A and delayed pulse B coincide. Pulse D is thus centered within the time period of pulse C with its rise and fall in relation to pulse C, controlled by the single delay element.
