Card Bed Interlocks

In a combinational punched card reader and keyboard device, the card carriage interlocks CI are effective when there is no record card in the card carriage to prevent manual slidable operation of the card carriage into the card reader. This eliminates excessive wear and damage to record sensing members and the card carriage.

The interlocks are record card operated, being disabled when a record card is properly inserted into the card carriage to permit the card carriage to be manually and slidably moved into the card reader.
