Program Step Matrix Driver

A two ring step matrix driver is provided in which any desired stepping sequence may be selected by plug connecting the output of a currently actuated AND unit 10.. 18 to feed back so that in coincidence with a program advance pulse from a source 19, the next desired trigger in each of the two rings is actuated.

A first ring comprises triggers T(A), T(B) and T(C) each of which is actuated by the program advance pulse in coincidence with a feedback pulse through OR units O(A), O(B) or O(C). A second ring comprising triggers T(X), T(Y) and T(Z) is similarly actuated by the program advance pulse and a feedback pulse through OR units O(X), O(Y) or O(Z). This coincidence of pulses actuates an AND unit 20 associated with the selected ring trigger and, through a delay unit 21, actuates the trigger.

If the selected trigger is ON, it is first turned OFF by the program advance pulse actuating an AND unit 22 which is conditioned by the ON state of the associated trigger.

Assuming that trigger T(A) and T(X) were initially selected, AND 10 is actuated and its output is fed back via a hub A(X), a plug wire 23 and a hub BY to actuate triggers T(B) and T(Y). As a result, AND 14 is actuated and feeds back via hub BY, plug wire 24 and hub AZ to actuate the next desired triggers T(A) and T(Z). Thus, by selective wiring, any desired sequence may be obtained.
