Incandescent Lamp Holder

The holder supports a lamp and also facilitates the electrical connection of the lamp to a power source.

Lamp 1 with flexible leads 2 is positioned in a holder 3 by inserting the lamp, lead end first, into a hole 4 which extends through the holder. An enlarged area of the lamp at its face end seats in an adhesive 5 carried in a counter bore 6 of the holder. With the lamp in position in the holder, the leads 2 are each bent back into a related slot 7 and positioned in a lead receiving recess 8 in the side wall of the related slot.

The holder and lamp are then supported on a circuit card socket 10 by the engagement of the slots 7 with extending rigidly supported conductor pins 9 carried by the circuit card socket. The slots 7 and pins 9 are tapered so that a wedging action results with the holder securely supported and with the leads 2 firmly engaged with the pins 9 to insure electrical contact. A third non-conductor pin 11 engages a recess in the outer surface of the holder 3 to further support the holder.
