Abstract

This print transfer method provides for a cartridge or frame in which a form and an embossed credit card or plate is inserted. By inserting the frame into the device, a print transfer roller mounted on a pivot bracket is pivoted away from the form to prevent smudge or shadow printing in the process of inserting the form to be printed.

Embossing Device

This print transfer method provides for a cartridge or frame in which a form and an embossed credit card or plate is inserted. By inserting the frame into the device, a print transfer roller mounted on a pivot bracket is pivoted away from the form to prevent smudge or shadow printing in the process of inserting the form to be printed.

Extraction of the frame pivots the print roller to its printing position so that printing is accomplished as the frame is removed. The application of a toggle action swings the print roll free of the document when the cartridge is inserted and provides for a squeeze action by the print rollers when the cartridge is removed, resulting in print transfer.

This process requires no ink impregnated rolls and print transfer is accomplished with a minimum of effort.
