Punch Checking

The checking arrangement detects that a selected punch has perforated a record card.

As the punch 1 is driven downwardly, an extension 2 passes a stationary sensing coil and core 3. The change in flux, as the extension passes the coil, produces a voltage which is applied to a sense amplifier 4. This voltage is stored in the trigger 5 for sampling to indicate the punch has perforated the card.
