Abstract

This card guide comprises spaced side pieces 1, 2 having facing grooves 3, 4 with beveled and non-beveled bases, respectively. Each is wider than the thickness of a card 5 (upper drawing). The bases of grooves 3, 4 run parallel to the card path axis. Intermediate its ends, piece 1 is bent slightly downward to provide a compression bend at 6 (both drawings). When a card 5 is fed through the grooves, the beveled groove 3 and downward bend 6 cooperate to register the card against the straight base and lower side of groove 4, eliminating the need for a registering spring.
