Identification Card

The drawings show a front and exploded side view of an identification card
1. This is comprised of a printed insert 2 having on a front side a photograph 3, a printed employee number 4, and a magnetic oxide area 5. On the back side, data such as name, address and a fingerprint are printed.

In forming the card, the insert 2 is sandwiched between unplasticized thermoplastic sheets 6 and 7. Then, the assembly is bonded into a unitary whole. After the card is assembled, a coded serial number or the like is magnetically recorded on the area 5. The magnetically recorded serial number is read by magnetic reading device on presentation of the card by the bearer. Holes 8 register the identification card during recording and reading of the magnetic serial number.
