Abstract

Block 10 is an open wire, low voltage type of multiple connector. In each of the block holes 11 there is fitted a flexible leaf contact 12 formed with a tapered section 13 and an end 14 crimped onto a wire 15. The bottom surface of each hole 11 is formed with a 90o step 16 which provides an accurate and consistent locator for the contact section 13.

Block 10 is an open wire, low voltage type of multiple connector. In each of the block holes 11 there is fitted a flexible leaf contact 12 formed with a tapered section 13 and an end 14 crimped onto a wire 15. The bottom surface of each hole 11 is formed with a 90o step 16 which provides an accurate and consistent locator for the contact section 13.

Heretofore, when the hole surface is merely tapered, the tolerance variations in both contact and hole surfaces cause variance in the contact position and inconsistencies in the points of contact.

The 90 degree angle step 16 forms contact locating block having increased reliability.
