Hydraulic Pulse Producing

An electrical input control is applied to a balanced flow hydraulic system to introduce a momentary pressure pulse in either of the balanced pressure ducts.

The structure uses a flexible diaphragm containing imbedded wires, which, through external switching, carry unidirectional current in one of two selected directions. An external magnetic field, produced either by a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, causes a a flexure of the diaphragm by virtue of the interaction of the current flow in the conductors and the magnetic field. The movement of the diaphragm is directly transmitted to the hydraulic fluid in the system, where the pulse is utilized for example, in servo applications.
