Cutting Tool

The device is a tool for cutting paper or other relatively thin materials. A cutting station comprising a blade 1 which has a cutting edge 2, is incorporated within a holder 3 so that, in a small portable embodiment, the device may be carried and used with complete safety.

The material to be cut is directed against the cutting edge 2 through the opening 4. Diverging channels 5 and 6 are provided past the cutting station for guiding the severed portions of the material out of the device. The channel configuration provides structural strength and rigidity for the holder 3 by permitting the retention of a substantial amount of the holder material 7. Also, the arrangement assures that that part of the material, which is still at the cutting station, is not distorted.
