Dielectric Sensing Device

The circuit is adapted for sensing coded data in a record and includes a conductive record support 1, a dielectric layer 2, a conductive brush 3 and circuit connections 4 and 5.

When a record 6 is interposed between the dielectric layer 2 and the brush 3, a maximum spacing is achieved producing a minimum capacitive effect between the brush and the conductive support. When the brush drops into an aperture 7 in the record, a minimum spacing is achieved producing a maximum capacitive effect.
