Abstract

A capacitor storage ring is shown having a ring of dielectric material supported by a metal disk, with metal inserts in the periphery of the ring. The disk serves as a common plate and each insert serves as a second plate to form a plurality of capacitors. The device does not require wiring between the various plates. A connection to the common plate and another connection to the inserts provides a means for reading into and out of the capacitor.

Capacitor Storage Ring

A capacitor storage ring is shown having a ring of dielectric material supported by a metal disk, with metal inserts in the periphery of the ring. The disk serves as a common plate and each insert serves as a second plate to form a plurality of capacitors. The device does not require wiring between the various plates. A connection to the common plate and another connection to the inserts provides a means for reading into and out of the capacitor.

The use of discrete capacitors results in a unit easily balanced for operation at high speeds.
