Ribbon and Leader Assembly

The gist of this device is to provide a leader for an inked ribbon to permit easy removal of the ribbon from an inaccessible spool.

The leader is so attached to the spool that the ribbon may be wound there around without causing any bulging or unevenness which could eventually lead to deformation of the ribbon.

A loop at one end of the leader is adapted to embrace a knurled annular recess in the spool shaft and is secured in the embraced position by an arcuate spring clip. The annular recess is adequate to permit the entire length of the leader to be wound therein without extending beyond the peripheral surface of the shaft.

A connector is provided at the other end of the leader for attachment to a ribbon.
