Double Punch and Blank Column Check

This circuitry determines whether punched cards, normally having a single punched hole per column, have missing or double punched holes in a column.

A single hole detection relay 1, having a hold winding H1, is energized during the pulse from the first hole read in a column and transfers contacts 1-2 to provide a circuit for energizing a double punched hole error relay 10, if a pulse from a second punched hole occurs. Blank column error relay 11 is energized through contacts 1-1, if no punched hole occurs.

A blank column error indication circuit is provided through contacts 1-4 and a double punch indication is through contacts 1-2.
