Abstract

With regard to a device for generating electrical impulses at predetermined intervals of time, the inner wall 10 of a stationary cylindrical housing 11 is recessed to contain arcuately spaced photo-responsive elements 12. These generate electrical impulses in response to impinging light. Light is selectively directed to the photo-responsive elements 12 from a light source 13 remotely located from the cylinder 11 but in line with the longitudinal axis.

Photoelectric Circuit Breaker

With regard to a device for generating electrical impulses at predetermined intervals of time, the inner wall 10 of a stationary cylindrical housing 11 is recessed to contain arcuately spaced photo-responsive elements 12. These generate electrical impulses in response to impinging light. Light is selectively directed to the photo-responsive elements 12 from a light source 13 remotely located from the cylinder 11 but in line with the longitudinal axis.

The light from source 13 is directed to impinge upon a reflecting surface 14 angularly attached to the end of a shaft 15 positioned concentrically with the cylinder 11, The shaft 15 rotates and enables the reflecting surface 14 to direct light from source 13 through an aperture of a light columnating ring 16 and related photo-responsive elements 12 to effect the generation of electrical impulses in succession,
