Abstract

When effecting a parallel transfer from one register to another, it is desirable that such is complete and correct. When a number stored in register T is to be transferred in parallel to register R, control triggers A and B are initially in the off state so that the 0 output of trigger B applies a positive signal to condition the AND circuit A1. Upon command to transfer, a signal is applied over the start transfer line to turn on control trigger A, which applies a positive signal through the now conditioned AND circuit A1 to the enable transfer line connected to all of the AND circuits A linking the registers T and R.

When effecting a parallel transfer from one register to another, it is desirable that such is complete and correct. When a number stored in register T is to be transferred in parallel to register R, control triggers A and B are initially in the off state so that the 0 output of trigger B applies a positive signal to condition the AND circuit A1. Upon command to transfer, a signal is applied over the start transfer line to turn on control trigger A, which applies a positive signal through the now conditioned AND circuit A1 to the enable transfer line connected to all of the AND circuits A linking the registers T and R.

Those of the AND circuits A which are conditioned by the 1 outputs of the triggers of register T pass this positive signal to turn on corresponding triggers of register R causing a binary 1 to be stored in R. Those of the AND circuits A which are conditioned by the 0 output of the triggers of register T pass the positive signal to turn off the corresponding triggers of register R causing a binary 0 to be stored in R.

The Exclusive OR circuits monitor the outputs of the corresponding triggers of registers T and R and when the values are each identical the Exclusive OR circuits each provide a positive conditioning signal to the AND circuit A2.
