Beam Switching Tube Circuit

On page 30, IBM Technical Disclosure Bulletin, Vol. 1, No. 4, December 1958, there is described a half adder circuit using a beam switching tube.

A full adder circuit is realized, when three half adder circuits and five resistors are interconnected.

X, Y and C (carry) are the inputs and sum and carry the outputs, as follows: Sum = X * bar Y * bar C + Y * bar X * bar C + bar X * bar Y * C + X * Y *
