Abstract

Magetic tape cleaners use a dry-wiping method. Two problems are associated with the current cleaner designs: 1) they are only capable of cleaning the magnetic (front) side of the tape; and 2) it is possible for debtris captured on the cleaning ribbon to be redeposited on the tape.
