Head Suspension Assembly Snap-In (For Current Swage Mount)

       Use of this illustrated mounting makes it possible
"plug-in" the adapter arm for use with current orthogonal head
fixtures on linear actuators.  It provides a fit that adjusts itself
for alignment due to the pressure.

      The arm adapter 1, shown in Fig. 1, is assembled to the
suspension assembly (HSA) mounting block assembly 2. to its
symmetrical design the block assembly can be on either side of the
arm 1 for use with top or HSAs.  The HSA 3 is inserted into the
block assembly and is held rigid.

      The block assembly is made up of the mount plate 7, as in three
views of Fig. 2, the spring plate 8, and the leaf 9.  The plate 7
is machined with a flat edge for the of the HSA's mounting block to
be held back against for X,Y datum.  The suspension is spring loaded
back against edge by the springs 9 which exert pressure on the
portion of the HSA's mount block 10.  The spring 8 then holds the
suspension flat to the surface of the plate 7 for repeatable Z-axis
positioning.
