3270 HLLAPI Extensions for the Environment

Disclosed are three extensions to 3270 HLLAPI Level
Language Application Programming Interface) for asynchronous
environment.

HLLAPI was supported only through coax-attached until the File
Transfer and Terminal Emulator (FTTERM) Version 2.0 was introduced.
FTTERM through the asynchronous communications adapter an IBM PC or
PS/2 system.  FTHLLAPI, FTTERM's version of allows HLAPPI programs
access to the asyncrhonous

Extensions to HLLAPI have been made to allow a PC to establish
an asynchronous session, disconnect an session, and determine whether
a host exists.

The following three commands have been added to HLLAPI:
   1)   QUERY EMULATOR HOST CONNECTION (80)
   2)   RAISE SESSION DTR (81)
   3)   DROP SESSION DTR (82)

The QUERY EMULATOR HOST CONNECTION verb allows an application
to determine if an asynchronous host exists.  (FTTERM requires both
Data Set Ready and Detect to be present before it considers the host
active.)

If a host connection does not exist, this verb also the API
application if there are auto-dials defined not.
 Parameters Required When Called

   3)   Length = (Implied length is 1)
Values Returned

        Session (E)
